About Papa's Crafty
Our Story
At Papa's Crafty, our love of wood crafts came from the staple in our family, Darrell Sligh, "Papa." A Godly man with years of logging and tools, Papa could build anything just from a pile of lumber. From the smallest creation of a jewelry box to his largest project of a two-story house, Papa's talents and hard work always inspired his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. After he joined our Lord in 2022, we continued on his talents. Dusting off his tools and uncovering the wood piles, we brought Papa's Crafty to fruition and created special long-lasting decorations for every family to enjoy.
Our Philosophy
We believe that great designs should be of great quality. Our products are carefully crafted deep in the Zig-Zag mountains of Hot Springs National Park. Finessing the smallest details, we make every wood craft with personality, liveliness, and uniqueness that truly become one-of-a-kind decorations.
Our Process
Our process starts with understanding current trends and staying up-to-date with the latest colors and themes. Then we put pen to paper and sketch an outline for our newest craft. Using a variety of wood tools, we carefully cut out each part of the design. Using sturdy nails, screws, staples, and/or wood glue, the pieces are brought together and moved on to painting and accessories. Using a variety of painting techniques, our products will always have a classy rustic look made with lots of fun and love.
